Beautiful Handmade Live Edge Red Oak Table with Walnut Bowties. Free Delivery.
This table was hand-made by Tim Adams from Amity Woodworks in Mahopac, New York. It is crafted from a log salvaged from a tree in Orange County. This was a giant red oak tree in someone’s yard, with a trunk about six feet in diameter. The tree was so rotted out at the base, that a bear spent some time living in it. The tree was taken down for safety reasons and some of the wood was able to be salvaged. This slab was milled with an Alaskan chainsaw mill in July of 2017. The wood was then air dried for over 2 years before being ready to work with. The table is made of a single slab with epoxy and walnut bowties to stabilize and fill any cracks. It stands on mid-century modern style hairpin legs built from solid 3/8" diameter raw stainless steel. It is finished with a mixture of oil and urethane.
